Irish Film Festival

The Chicago Irish Film Festival was founded in 2000. The Festival has brought forth classics to the contemporary. Since its inception, the Festival has screened features, documentaries, shorts and animation. Some of these have won awards and have had selected screenings at some of the largest festivals in the world including Cannes, Sundance, and Toronto. We know part of the thrill of going to festival is to see your favorite stars, directors, and producers of the Irish Cinema.

The festival was inaugurated by the Honorable Charles Sheehan, Consul General of Ireland, Chicago.

The American Conference for Irish Studies led a fascinating discussion after the, "Shocking Shorts" Program. This year the festival established two awards, a Critics Award and an Audience Award both for short films and the winners are:

1st Place: Endgame: directed by Andrew Greener
2nd Place: It Happened One Night: directed by Jonathan Shaw.
