Hotel Allegro has a colorful past. In 1894, The Eitel Brothers build the original forty- foot Hotel & Restaurant Bismarck. During World War l, in 1914, the German "Bismarck" name was dropped and renamed as the Randolph Hotel.

In 1996, a group of local investors purchased the hotel from the Wirtz family and embarks on a million dollar renovation that embraces the Art Deco design and gives a total new look to the hotel. In 1998, Hotel Allegro Chicago debuts, joining the collection of Kimpton Hotels. The Hotel Allegro is situated in the heart of the city.
