Apollo Theater

Established in 1978 by theatre producers Jason Brett and Stuart Oken, the Apollo boasts a dramatic glass and concrete design conceived by Chicagoan Michael Lustig.

A very convenient location was allotted to the Apollo i.e. in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The Apollo was renovated twice and the result is that it has become a vital destination not only for the Chicagoans but also for all the tourists from world over.

Its three- quarter thrust stage has 440 plush seats configured in just eleven rows, allowing audiences a theatrical experience unparalleled in intimacy and accessibility.

The Apollo Theater has a second stage located at the basement level of the theatre. Rightly named as The Apollo Theater Studio, this is a casual, flexible space, allowing either a theater- style or cabaret- style setting. Beverage service is available prior to, and even occasionally during performances and a piano is available for cabaret artists and small- cast musicals.

The theatre also holds a stand- up comedy show entitled, “Laugh it Up, Chicago!" The show aids The Children's Memorial Hospital. The show features four of the most talented local comedians whose main purpose is to raise money and awareness for the kids.
