Floating Candles in Chicago’s Only Castle

Before the Irish Castle became the site of the Beverly Unitarian Church, it first passed among different families who lived there, and then became a college for females.  The story goes that a young girl once died there of lingering influenza.  It is said that her spirit also lingers in the castle, floating over staircases and appearing as floating candles visible from outside the castle.

Mrs. Hull and the Devil Baby of Chicago

The Hull House is one of Chicago’s historical sites.  It is also shrouded by stories of the supernatural.  It was said that the wife of the original owner of the house, Mrs. Hull, lurks in her old room at the house looking sad and forlorn.  Another regular apparition in the house is said to be the one of the Devil Baby, who is claimed to be a deformed child with pointed ears, horns, a tail and scaly skin.
